ARTISTS
Chotan Krishna Dhar
He is a multidisciplinary artist inspired by his father, a self-taught painter who first sparked his love for creativity. Since beginning formal studies in 2008, he has earned a Bachelor's and Master's in Fine Arts and has been practicing professionally for over a decade. His work spans watercolour, acrylic colour, oil colour, charcoal, ink, and mixed media, exploring emotion, nature, and human connection through colour and texture.

He has participated in solo and group exhibitions, taught numerous workshops on watercolour techniques, composition, and creative expression, and founded his own studio and art school, guiding children and adults in drawing, painting, and design. He also brings over 8 years of experience in fashion and textile design, enhancing his expertise in colour, form, and visual storytelling—one of his hand-sketched prints was even featured by M&S UK.

My first colored pencil drawing from the Bonny Snowdon Academy. I just started using colored pencils 6 months ago and this little fella caught my eye. I love the challenge of the different techniques colored pencils require on different surfaces. Pastelmat, Polychromos, and photo credit from Pexels.

This is the first in a series of symbolic pieces, expressing how life feels to me at the moment I paint. I?ve recently been experimenting with R&F oil paint sticks, to expand my approach to painting details. This 10x10? oil on gallery wrapped canvas is accepted into the Yosemite Sierra Artists 55th Anniversary show, opening June 12, at Gallery 5 in Oakhurst.

Title or Location: Gromit in heaven
Gromit was a ?foster fail? who helped many other foster dogs on their way to a new life. He demonstrated life could be kind and to try and trust again. His favorite play dates were at Union Reservoir, retrieving tennis balls in the water. The day before Memorial Day in 2018, he started fading fast, a rush to the emergency vet showed the cause, cancer on his heart. He died just after midnight, so it would be impossible for me to forget him. He was 4years old.
